Design proposal ammendments

Guys,

been ammeding bits in the design proposal and have including an additional section with relevant research points that back up our plan.

I went through the comments from the "judges"- tutors and saw that there were some questions on whether it was necessary to build onsite- when the education could be facilitated in existing buildings.

I disagree entirely with this point. the whole idea is that we give the area a monument, a symbol of investment so they feel more included within the city. Therefore i have added a point in the proposal reflecting this a bit better. see below;

"We discussed using the existing buildings onsite such as the schools, which could perhaps facilitate this scheme. However we opted to build onsite because we felt it was important for this building not only to facilitate the service but also to be a beacon and a symbol of investment in the area, for the people of Lavapies to be proud of, similar to investment in other areas. We are preserving much of the site in other areas as parkland and therefore we felt it wasn’t overbearing on the rest of the site. "

i think we are definitely right and i think its important to reflect that this was not omething we took lightly and something we thought about alot.
