They will be extruded steel posts and if we are saying it can be applied on by painting it then it save the need to manufacture the ball part, do you know how long the material last until it fades?

from what i read the paint appication wont be able to absorb enough sunlight, especially as there is very little surface area for the sun to hit aswell. i dont know mate have a look on some sights and see what you think. i read today on a couple of sites that the paint can only be applied to wood and concrete because its waterbased. you need to think how big it needs to be in order to absorb enough sunlight, and also create enough light. Theres this thing called LUX- its like the formula for how much light is needed to turn into energy, and then how long that will last. with the plastic you can acheive around 15 mm shell through rotational moulding so all that shell can store the energy- and also there is a larger area in the sun at one time. ill post my write up of the lighting sceme anyway so you can read it. then we can change bits to fit in with your your light once youve got the information init. joe
