yeh its pretty similar to what i was thinking, but instead of having a whole pod (cube kinda thing) why dont we just have walls that move/slide from the ceiling, and when you dont need them you place them to the side, do you knw what i mean? we dont want to close the pod cos people are coming from each side kinda needs to be open,we just need walls that seperate each stool no? wat do you think?..

thats a cool idea, so are they on rails so they can then adapt and slide around?

oh and how well will that work in terms of being able to "snake" the markey at
round the site? will it maybe be a bit rigid?

yeh the ceiling has like a rail so you can place the walls wherever you want, and when you have to use it for the perfomance for e.g you can adjust it how you want..the only thing is that we have to make the walls strong but light so it can be easily moved...

also, during the night the walls would have to be locked in somewhere, in that case we can slide them to the side where the sink and etc is in..you get it??

however, if they are cheap walls they can always be replaced if damaged...

the thing is if they are on a rail then they have to link into all the spaces, and i think that maybe it will limit the shape the thing can grow into? the other thing is that the walls are then always the same shape- ie they are not able to be compressed or retracted so will be hard to move around when converting the space. how do you think we would get around that? also you need to think exactl how big these things are going to be, and whether the walls are floor to ceiling- becasue if they are then how would you easily be able to move them out of the way?

also you need to think how you want this thing to grow. you were saying yesterday that you want it to grow organically so no fixed structure. if this is all on big long building that can be adapted then you are taking away from the market system in a way, becasue the idea of a market is there are space between stalls ect so you can wander around and weave between things. i dunno what the sollution is im just saying that i think we need to start with a small building with a bar/ cafe and a multifunctional space and then the market "stalls" are then pods that can be added as and when the market requires it.

wel, all the questions you have just asked me, i asked mysef yesterday with wumi and deniz..so i know exactly where you are coming from...cos our conclusion was like " why do we need walls then inbetween the different stools becasue everyone needs to move around them..mmm..haha...then you told me about the pods, but having pods is like having walls..u get it.?!!

oh yeh maybe the moving walls dont have to be all teh way to the ground...thay can be half..and the rail is obviously only frm the ceiling..it all depends how wide the ceiling is...but if the is going to be performance it cant be a straight line..you get me? i has to be a wide ceiling anyway, the market will only take up the middle of it...
